Heat Illness Prevention

If you are in high-heat environments, practice basic heat prevention by:

  • Drinking plenty of cool, fresh water throughout the day
  • Take cool-down rests for at least five minutes when you feel the need to do so
  • Seeking adequate shade when taking cool-down rests
  • Using a 鈥渂uddy system鈥.  Work or participate with others, knowing where they are and having them know where you at all times
